Neuro-Fitness Educator • Author
• Educator Resource Creator
With more than 50 years of experience in fitness and wellness, I’ve focused on helping people understand the powerful connection between the brain and body.
Today, I bring that experience into education—creating practical resources that help teachers and parents support children's focus, self-regulation, confidence, movement, and readiness to learn.
My goal is simple: help children build the skills they need to become successful learners.
My Story
A Lifetime of Helping People Learn, Move, Grow, and Thrive
Hello, I'm Tippy!
For more than five decades, I have dedicated my life to helping people discover what they are capable of achieving. My journey began in fitness, where I learned that movement is about so much more than muscles and physical strength. It can influence how we feel, how we focus, how we build confidence, and how we participate in the world around us.
Over the years, my work has taken me into recreation programs, fitness centers, post-rehabilitation settings, senior communities, and educational environments. I have worked with children, adults, older adults, and fitness professionals, and each experience has reinforced a belief that continues to guide my work today: when we understand what people need to succeed, we can help them build the skills and confidence to get there.
Why I Believe the Brain and Body Belong Together
My background in fitness and neuro-fitness has shaped the way I think about learning. Movement, attention, breathing, emotional regulation, and confidence are all important parts of how we experience the world.
Sometimes, what looks like a lack of focus is a child who needs to move. What looks like giving up may be frustration or uncertainty. And what looks like a child who isn't ready to learn may be an opportunity to teach an important skill before moving forward.
These moments have inspired me to explore practical ways to help people understand themselves, develop new skills, and experience success one step at a time.
Why I Created Building Successful Learners™
One belief has become especially important to me: children don't arrive at school knowing how to do school.
They must learn how to follow routines, transition between activities, ask for help, manage frustration, work with others, become more independent, and keep trying when something feels difficult.
Teachers work incredibly hard, and parents and homeschool families carry important responsibilities, too. I wanted to create practical resources that make their jobs a little easier while helping children become confident, capable learners.
That's why I created Building Successful Learners™.
Through classroom resources, movement activities, learning tools, and parent-friendly strategies, my goal is to help the adults in a child's life recognize what a child needs and know what to try next.
I believe learning should be purposeful, encouraging, and developmentally appropriate. Small moments matter. A successful transition, a child asking for help, or the willingness to try again can be just as meaningful as completing a worksheet.
More Than a Career—A Personal Mission
My work has taught me that growth doesn't stop at a certain age, and learning doesn't happen in only one way. Children, adults, and older adults all benefit when we recognize their individual needs and give them opportunities to build on their strengths.
That belief continues to guide both Neuro-Fitness Academy and Building Successful Learners™.
Whether I am helping educators support their students, creating resources for homeschool families, sharing activities with parents, or developing new ways to connect movement and learning, my purpose remains the same: to help people recognize their potential and take the next step toward it.
I'm also an author, and I enjoy creating books and resources that encourage learning, personal growth, and positive values.
I don't believe we need to make everything complicated. Often, a simple strategy, a little encouragement, and a better understanding of what someone needs can make a meaningful difference.
I'm Glad You're Here
If you're a teacher looking for practical classroom strategies, a parent who wants to support your child's development, or a homeschool family working to make learning at home more positive and manageable, you've come to the right place.
I invite you to explore the resources, try the activities, and find the ideas that work for your family or classroom.
You don't have to have all the answers. You just need a place to begin.
Let's help children move, learn, grow, and become successful learners—one small step at a time.
Warmly,
Tippy Missick
